Peter Clever is the New Chairman of the Board of Governors

On 1 July, Peter Clever, member of the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (Bundesvereinigung der Deutschen Arbeitgeberverbände), became chairman of the board of governors of the Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit - BA). Annelie Buntenbach, member of the federal executive board of the German Federation of Trade Unions (Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund), is now deputy chairwoman.
Ms Buntenbach had been Mr Clever's predecessor as chairwoman of the board of governors. The chair of the board of governors rotates regularly on 1 July each year between the group of employees and the group of employers.
The board of governors is the central self-governing body of the BA. It supervises the executive board and the administration and provides comprehensive advice to the executive board in all current matters concerning the labour market. The board of governors consists of three parties with equal rights and has 21 members – seven representatives each of employees, of employers and of municipal self-governing bodies.
