Annelie Buntenbach is new Chairwoman of the Board of Governors

Annelie Buntenbach, member of the Federal Executive Board of the German Federation of Trade Unions (DGB), took over as Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Employment Agency (BA) as of 01 July 2017. The Board of Governors elected her during its session on 23 June 2017.

Peter Clever, member of the Executive Board of the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA) is Vice-Chairman. Up to now, he was Chairman of the Board of Governors. The Chair of the Board of Governors rotates every year, alternating between the employees’ group and the employers’ group.

The Board of Governors is the central self-government board of the BA. It monitors and advises the Executive Board and the administration on all current labour market matters. The Board of Governors is tripartite. It consists of 21 members and 15 deputy members; twelve representatives of employees, of employers, and of the public entities respectively.
