26 Feb 2018 | Press Release No. 6
From 26th February to 2nd March 2018, regional administrations, employment agencies and job centres will be promoting dual vocational training among employers and young people - with numerous events, information days, training fairs and advisory services.
The aim is to show companies that they are laying the foundation for the protection of skilled workers by providing training in their own company. The aim is to show young people the diverse career opportunities offered by dual vocational training - from dual studies and a later university degree to a master craftsman's certificate or the takeover of a company.
This year's training week will focus on raising awareness of innovative training models such as part-time vocational training.
Individual living conditions, such as caring for children, can make it difficult in particular for young women to enter the job market successfully. At the same time, we are also dependent on this potential junior staff, because, considering the increasing demand for skilled workers, we have to exploit the entire domestic workforce’s potential as far as possible, says Detlef Scheele, Chairman of the Management Board of the Federal Employment Agency. Part-time training is, therefore, a win-win situation for both sides: "The employers secure the necessary young professionals, the trainees can reconcile family and career entry".
