Apart from registering online in search of jobs, applying electronically for unemployment benefit and making online consultation appointments, customers will, from 1 January 2022, be provided with a further digital eService which allows end-to-end online processing. From the start of 2022, the electronic unemployment registration feature will enable customers to register as unemployed at any time of day and completely location-independent.. As of 1 January 2022, online registration will be equivalent to personal registration. Until now, it was compulsory to register in person.

As with personal unemployment registration, online unemployment registration is subject to submission of identification. One can supply proof of identify using the online ID card verification feature or by using an electronic alternative, such as the electronic residence permit, the eID card, or EU/EEC state passports with online proof of identity. Those who prefer to register in person instead of online will, however, still be able to do so.
