Teachers for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Information about the project

The International Placement Service (ZAV) is part of the Federal Employment Agency and will support you as you start a new phase of your professional development. We are a state-run institution, which means that our service is independent and neutral and there are no charges for you.

Are you a teacher? Can you imagine practising your profession in Germany? You are just what the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is looking for!

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is searching for teachers with a foreign teaching qualification in the subjects of mathematics, IT, biology, chemistry, physics, art and music.

The prerequisites are a knowledge of German at quite high level (at least C1) and a Master’s degree that enables you to teach one of the above subjects at non-vocational schools in your country of origin.

If your teacher qualification of your home country is recognized, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania offers you a permanent teaching position for the 5th grade upwards (pupils aged approx. 10-18).

The region by the Baltic Sea is very natural with a lot of lakes and a unique natural and cultural landscape, not far from Berlin – good reasons for becoming a teacher in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The working conditions are very good because the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania attaches great value to the expansion of the schools and the quality of the teaching. The professional prospects could hardly be better, as a large number of older colleagues are retiring in the short and medium term and there are a lot of positions to be filled. So there is nothing standing in the way of a successful career and life plan.

The schools and the positions for your work as a teacher are predominantly located in rural areas. Enjoy a good life far from the large cities in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the north-east of Germany.

Unfortunately, the Corona virus is currently restricting both our social life and the German economy (to the current travel regulations).
