Christina Ramb, member of the Executive Board of the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA), was elected Deputy Chair.
Anja Piel explained on the occasion of the change of office: “In view of the uncertain labour market with rising unemployment figures, more further training is the best protection against unemployment. Every penny we invest in training pays off in terms of creating secure career prospects for people. The transformation of the labour and training market requires forward-looking labour market policies that focus on continuing vocational training. This is the only way to retain employees. The BA requires additional resources to provide constructive support for this profound change. In addition, employees must be relieved of routine tasks to a greater extent. To achieve this, investments must be made in automation and the use of AI wherever possible. The BA must use demographic change as an opportunity for change.”
Christina Ramb adds: “Especially with rising unemployment, the BA must focus on its core task: Placing people in jobs and paying out benefits.” There is one key lever that can be used to avoid higher costs for contributors: Spending on unemployment benefits must be reduced. The more unemployed people find work, the lower the expenditure and the higher the revenue. Many employers are still looking for staff. That's why the current motto is: fill vacancies, fill vacancies, fill vacancies. The BA must now bring people and jobs together. The Management Board is driving forward important measures relating to digitalisation, process optimisation and customer proximity. They have our support on the Board of Directors for this.”
The Administrative Board is the supervisory and advisory body of the BA's self-administration at the central level.
