From January 2026, child benefit will increase uniformly for each child by four euros to 259 euros per month. The family benefits office will automatically adjust the amounts and pay them out at the new rate starting in January. The more than 10 million people entitled to child benefit who already receive or have applied for child benefit do not need to take any action themselves.

Digital services offered by the Family Benefits Office

With the family benefits profile in the Federal Employment Agency's online account, applications and requests to the family benefits office can be handled quickly, securely, and conveniently online. More than half of the applications are already being submitted to the family benefits office online.
