#AusbildungKLARMACHEN: Alliance for Initial and Continuing Vocational Training launches the ‘Summer of Vocational Training’

The Federal Employment Agency (BA) is once again organising the ‘Summer of Vocational Training’ this year in collaboration with the federal government, the Länder, the business community and the trade unions. As part of the Alliance for Vocational Education and Training, it aims to inspire young people to take up vocational training and connect them with companies looking for trainees.

To achieve this goal, numerous events are held across the country from June to October, including training fairs and career guidance events. Information on social media for young people, parents and businesses on the topic of #AusbildungKLARMACHEN rounds off the range of resources available. Given the shortage of skilled workers in many sectors, it is vital to inform young people about the benefits of vocational training and encourage them to pursue it. That is why the BA aims to bring businesses and trainees together and pave the way for young people to gain a recognised vocational qualification. Apprenticeships are, and will remain, a key component in ensuring a supply of skilled workers for businesses.

Start the summer holidays with vocational training and secure your future

To help students secure a training position in good time before the summer holidays, the alliance partners are providing information during the campaign months about available training positions and funding opportunities during the training period. Training offers many benefits and opens up career opportunities. In this way, trainees gain practical skills and experience in the workplace that they can put to use in their future careers. On-the-job training also secures young people’s future. With a qualification under their belt, they have a good chance of securing a permanent position at the company once their training is complete. In addition, people with a vocational qualification are significantly less likely to be unemployed.

The most popular training occupations and the best opportunities for young people

When choosing a training occupation, it is worth taking a look at supply and demand in the training market. There are excellent prospects of securing a training position in many skilled trades, in food production and retail, or in the construction industry. In sales, warehouse logistics, the catering industry and metalworking and electrical trades, too, there are more registered training positions than registered applicants. A good place to start might be an internship, so that we can get to know each other and see how things go without any obligations.
