Do you already know in which profession you would like to work? Do you already possess a vocational qualification or are experienced in a certain field? Then you may search for matching positions in Germany’s major job board, the Jobsuche (available only in German). You may also narrow your search down, for example according to
- City or Federal State
- Working hours (full- or part-time)
- Nature of activity (for example, training or a job)
If you are a refugee or asylum seeker, you may also use our job board Jobsuche (available only in German). You can also get information on the requirements for entering the German labour market on our Admission on the German labour market site. You are also able to search for traineeship places. Even if you can speak only a little German, a traineeship is still possible. Use our special services.
Particular deadlines
If you are seeking asylum in Germany and your asylum procedure is still in progress, certain regulations apply. Generally, you may only work if the Foreign Nationals Office (Ausländerbehörde) has granted its approval. This also applies if you possess a so-called "Duldung" (i.e. your stay is tolerated). As a general rule, the waiting period during which you are not permitted to work is three months starting from your arrival. In case you have found employment, please contact the Foreign Nationals Office.
