Description
Apple’s Cellular Software team is seeking talented, highly motivated, and disciplined engineers to work across layers on groundbreaking cellular technologies. The position involves identifying, crafting, and developing core cellular technologies that solve everyday problems for customers using iPhones, iPads, watches, and other wireless product lines. The position includes also unit testing and end-to-end testing of the protocol stack software and complete support for the whole system verification.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design & document cellular L3 & L1 control software architecture
- Drive requirements, design, development and commercialization throughout the product life cycle
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to come up with the right interfaces between software and hardware to ensure right balance of power and performance
- Assess iOS/ watchOS features and identify the impact/fit of 3GPP control plane features to enhance end user experience
- Review and propose innovative updates to cellular standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong Software Engineering skills including design, programming (using C, C++), scripting (Python preferred, Perl) and debugging.
- Very good understanding about Embedded Systems concepts
- Hands on experience developing test specification, test case implementation and analysis of related defects in the code and design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of wireless/internet standards, including but not limited to 3GPP 5G-NR and LTE RRC & L1C control software protocols and their applications in end to end product design
- Experience in researching, developing, and applying AI/ML solutions, workflows, models in a production environment.
- Strong problem solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelors/Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Communications or equivalent majors
