PhD Student (m/w/d) - Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

The Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at TUM Klinikum Rechts der Isar is performing cutting-edge research projects in the fields of neuroimmunology, neuropsychiatry, and neurodegeneration. In the AG Jäkel, we are interested in oligodendrocytes in neurodegenerative and neuropsyhiatric disorders, with a strong focus on translational research and human research models. We are looking for a PhD candidate to join our team to work on a project studying the interaction between different risk factors in Alzheimer’s disease, using different experimental approaches, including analysis of human brain tissue, human iPSC cultures, proteomics and single-cell transcriptomics. We are looking for highly motivated and talented candidates holding a Masters degree in Life Science (Biology/Biomedical Sciences/Biochemistry or similar).
Your responsibilities:
- Planning and performing experiments in the lab, including cell culture and animal work
- You are responsible für data analysis
- Preparation of scientific presentations and presentation of results
Your profile:
- M.Sc. in the relevant fields e.g. Biology, Medicine, Biomedical science or equivalent
- Significant wet lab experience, ideally experience with cell culture and mouse models.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Passion and commitment to pursue an independent research project.
