Stellenbeschreibung

The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB) in Martinsried near Munich is one of the world’s leading international research institutions in the fields of biochemistry, cell and structural biology, and biomedical research. With around 27 scientific departments and research groups and about 750 employees, the MPIB is one of the largest institutes of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science.

We are looking for a part-time

Project Administrator/Assistant (m/f/d) (50%–80%)

to join the Grants Office to support the management of over 30 externally funded research projects with a total budget of more than €40 million.

Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the implementation of administrative requirements set by various funding bodies
  • Maintaining and managing databases
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of further services offered by the Grants Office
  • Project management
  • Drafting, reviewing and processing contracts and funding agreements in collaboration with researchers, the External Funding Department, the Legal Department and external partners
  • Coordinating the preparation of scientific and financial reports, including monitoring deadlines
  • Coordinating and implementing project changes

Your profile

We are looking for a responsible, well-organised and service-oriented individual who can quickly familiarise themselves with a variety of subject areas and who enjoys creating the ideal conditions for excellent research on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A completed qualification in a scientific field or as a business administrator
  • Ideally, experience in managing externally funded projects
  • The ability to edit English texts (spelling and grammar) and to creatively design documents
  • A sense of responsibility, thoroughness and reliability
  • A helpful attitude and a team-oriented approach to work
  • A willingness to learn and an interest in shaping new processes
  • The ability to prioritise tasks independently and manage time efficiently in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and persuasion skills in face-to-face, virtual and written interactions
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English (C1) and German (A2)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook, and a willingness to familiarise yourself with digital tools
