Postdoc (m/f/d) – Gastroenterology
Full- or part-time | temporary (48 month) | Klinik und Poliklinik für Innere Medizin II
Your responsibilities:
Dissecting genomic and post-transcriptional processes and their dynamics in pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer.
Our research focuses on genomic and post-transcriptional processes that facilitate tumor evolution, tumor heterogeneity, metastasis, and drug resistance in cancer. We aim to understand the dynamics of genome editing on the DNA and RNA level, cellular signaling, and their impact on the microenvironment in the context of inflammatory diseases and cancer. We employ cutting-edge computational biology methods to identify genomic aberrations, mutations, and post-transcriptional processes. In addition, we aim to verify those findings functionally and mechanistically with various molecular biology assays using a broad range of in vitro and in vivo platforms, including genetically engineered 2D/3D cell-, organoid- and mouse models, and human specimens.
Our overall goal is to gain a better mechanistic understanding that can be leveraged to identify novel treatment approaches to improve the clinical outcome in patients with inflammatory diseases and cancer. Our lab is currently growing to establish versatile cancer genomics, proteomics, and cell biology platforms to make an impact on the development of novel therapies.
Your profile:
- We are looking for a talented scientist driven by the desire to make a relevant contribution to the pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer field by discovering significant findings in the lab
- Knowledge of cancer genomics, proteomics, single-cell RNAseq, spatial transcriptomics, and molecular cell biology is recommended
- Prior research experience in computational platforms: single cell and spatial omics data structure: single cell and spatial omics analysis framework is encouraged but not a requirement
- The ability to drive projects with a high degree of excitement is encouraged
- The position requires a doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as biology, biomedical engineering, computational science, or bioinformatics
We offer you:
- EGYM well pass, corporate benefits and discounts (e.g. Käfer), cafeteria, sports and cultural offers
- Free use of the library through a branch of the Munich City Library located in the building
- Working in the heart of Munich at Max-Weber-Platz with very good accessibility by public transport such as the subway, S-Bahn or tram
- Company pension plan through the Federal and State Pension Institute (VBL)
- Self-realization through a varied and technically demanding job with interdisciplinary cooperation between various departments of the TUM Klinikum
We look forward to your application!
