Junior Safety & Services Coordinator

EPSCO is seeking a motivated Junior Safety & Services Coordinator (part time) to join our Hamburg team. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, with occasional office visits as needed.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and detail-oriented individual eager to develop a career in the shipping industry.  In this role, you will support our team in delivering high-quality safety, technical, and sales services, ensuring that our customers receive certified products efficiently and cost-effectively.  You will also assist in maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues to enhance the department’s success and profitability.

Duties include:

• Receive enquiries, submit quotations, place orders and arrange all services in a timely manner as per Company policies
• Finalize purchase details of orders and deliverables
• Provide clients with competitive prices from suppliers and service providers and ensure that such provisions are cost-effective with the finest delivery options
• Analytical, problem solving, time management and decision making skills
• Ability to respond positively to incidents in an effective manner
• Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills
• Validate and input invoices into the Company’s computerised system
• Provide appropriate back-up in the absence of a team member, as and when required
• Ensuring all service functions are effectively dealt with in a timely and reliable manner
• Assist with urgent or problematic enquiries
• Managing and archiving of records
• Liaise with Managing Director and Group Directors on all supply and service matters
• Provide after office hours customer support as, and when the business requires
• Meet with vendors and clients as and when required
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies and management systems
• To perform any other duties, which the Managing Director / Group Directors may require to be carried out.

Requirements for the Job:

Education:      A good standard of education (vocational training or relevant degree                                 preferred).
Experience:     Prior experience in sales or marine purchasing is not mandatory.
Problem-Solving: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Technical Skills: Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Languages: Fluency in English and German (written & spoken) is required.
