Stellenbeschreibung

In order to fill a fixed-term position in part-time (29.8725 hours/week = 75%) by October 1, 2026, we are looking for a

Research Assistant (doctoral researcher) (m/f/x) in Hebrew Bible Studies

The Collaborative Research Centre “Historical and Transcultural Narratology” (TRR 427), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), examines pre-modern (ancient, medieval, early modern) narratives from different cultural contexts with the aim of systematically and comparatively investigating the dynamics and functions of narratives in past contexts. The project, consisting of 19 PIs from 16 different disciplines, is based at the universities of Bochum, Bonn, and Freiburg.

In subproject A03, “Narrating Prophecy: A Diachronic Narratological Approach to Story and Discourse of Prophetic Books in the Hebrew Bible,” based at the Faculty of Protestant Theology at Ruhr University Bochum (PI: Prof. Dr. Joachim Krause), a position as a Research Assistant (m/f/x) (doctoral researcher m/f/x; TV-L 13, 75%) is available starting October 1, 2026. The position is limited-term until June 30, 2030. Project A03 develops a diachronic narratological approach to prophetic literature in the Hebrew Bible. The books of Amos and Ezekiel serve as case studies. Subject to project approval.
