Maritime Marketing and Communications supports DNV Maritime, the world's leading classification society, in driving the industry transition towards a digital, efficient and eco-friendly future; through broadening our reputation as a thought leader and accelerating revenue generation.

The Regional Communications Hub Europe, Middle East & Africa is an integral part of the global Maritime Marketing and Communications network, comprising a committed team of international marketing and communications experts in 5 countries responsible for strategy and leadership communication, marketing and campaign management, branding, digital communications, media relations & PR, event management, social media as well as employee communications.

We are looking for an ambitious Regional Communications Manager to join the team as a maternity cover from October 2026 – end of December 2027. In the role you will manage DNV Maritime’s regional communications activities for the Region West Europe, based in Hamburg, and reporting to the Head of Regional Communications for Europe, Middle East & Africa.

Your responsibilities

  • Implement the regional communications and marketing strategy, and develop key messages and targeted campaigns to increase brand awareness and generate leads across DNV Maritime’s product and service categories
  • Act as a key sparring partner for all comms-related activities to the Regional Management and Business Development teams of the Region West Europe
  • Contribute to the development, execution and localization of content across all channels (such as PR, social media, marketing collateral, online publishing, internal comms)
  • Foster local media relations
  • Plan, design and execute marketing events incl. invitation management
  • Create or localize impactful campaigns following our “digital first” communications strategy with a potential to scale local initiatives globally
  • Drive internal and leadership communications across different channels to provide a line of sight between high-level strategy and individual actions and goals
  • Apply data analytics to personalize and optimize content and measure success
  • Be the regional gatekeeper for global brand consistency, messaging, and tone of voice
  • Oversee the regional marcoms budget, including event sponsoring and media spending

Position Qualifications

  • University degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration or similar
  • Proven experience in a communications, marketing or PR role
  • Understanding of working a multitude of communications and marketing channels
  • Event-management experience
  • Familiarity with or openness to work with digital platforms and tools such as Eloqua
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of an international, virtual team
  • Experience of working within the Maritime industry would be an advantage
