Stellenbeschreibung

Your role at MOLNÁR-INSTITUTE

MOLNÁR-INSTITUTE develops DryLab®, an internationally established scientific software platform for HPLC method development, retention modeling and analytical design space modeling.

We are looking for an experienced .NET/C# software engineer to join our small, international team in Berlin. You will work on a mature scientific software product used in pharma- and life-science labs worldwide.

Our current codebase is primarily built in C# and .NET using WPF. Your role will be to understand and develop this established application responsibly, while helping us improve its architecture, maintainability and long-term technical direction.

Working model

The position is offered as a genuine four-day week with 32 working hours, distributed across four full working days. The regular non-working day will be agreed individually.

The guaranteed annual gross salary for this 32-hour position is €52,000–€58,000, depending on experience and qualifications, and is paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.

What you will do
  • Develop and maintain DryLab and related software modules
  • Implement new functionality in close cooperation with analytical scientists
  • Improve the maintainability, testability and performance of the existing application
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and the long-term development of the product
  • Review code and document technical decisions clearly
  • Support knowledge transfer and shared ownership within the development team
  • Analyse and resolve complex technical issues independently
What you bring
  • Several years of professional experience in C# and .NET software development
  • Experience with complex desktop, business or scientific applications
  • A solid understanding of software architecture, maintainable code and version control with Git
  • The ability to understand and improve an established codebase incrementally
  • A structured and dependable approach to development and documentation
  • Direct, respectful and constructive communication
  • Fluent written and spoken English

A university degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or another quantitative or scientific discipline is welcome, but relevant professional experience and demonstrated software engineering ability are more important to us.

Useful additional experience
  • WPF, MVVM or comparable desktop application frameworks
  • Automated testing and continuous integration
  • Data visualisation, numerical methods, mathematical modeling or scientific software
  • Performance optimisation and complex data processing
  • Modernisation of established software systems
  • German language skills are welcome but not required
What we offer
  • A permanent 32-hour position with a genuine four-day week
  • Meaningful software used in pharmaceutical and life-science research
  • Direct influence on technical decisions and product development
  • Close cooperation with experienced scientists and within a small software development team
  • High-performance development hardware and the software tools required for your work
  • A well-connected workplace in Berlin
  • Short decision-making paths and substantial individual responsibility

The position is based at our Berlin office.

How to apply

Please send your CV and a short note describing your relevant experience, your interest in the position, your possible starting date and your salary expectations. Magdalena Marinski will be your first point of contact for organizational questions and the coordination of the application process.
