Stellenbeschreibung
The German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbruecke (DIfE) is a member of the Leibniz Association. The institute’s mission is to conduct experimental and clinical research in the field of nutrition and health, with the aim of understanding the molecular basis of nutrition-dependent diseases, and of developing new strategies for treatment and prevention.
The newly established Department of Computational Precision Nutrition (CPN) invites applications for
1 Postdoc (m/f/d)
starting on January 1st, 2027.
The Department of Computational Precision Nutrition develops methods and software for the analysis of both population-level and individual-level data, to enable personalized health recommendations based on dietary patterns, behaviors, and diet-associated biomarkers. We aim to contribute to the personalized prevention and treatment of chronic diseases and advance our understanding of the mechanisms underlying their development. N-of-1 trials are a central part in the research projects of the department.
We are seeking one highly motivated scientist with expertise in Project Coordination, N-of-1 trials, Nutrition, Epidemiology and Clinical Trials and to join our team.
Tasks will include:
- Coordinate, supervise and contribute to the design, setup, conducting, analysis and reporting of series of N-of-1 trials conducted on the StudyU platform and other innovative app-based studies on nutrition
- Help in designing feature requirements of the StudyU platform and contribute to scale its users
- Collaborate with clinicians, epidemiologists and laboratory scientists in the design of new studies and analysis of existing data
- Coordinate and supervise the planning, analysis and reporting of large epidemiological studies (e.g. EPIC Potsdam study, German National Cohort study) to derive individual-level insights
- Coordinate research activities of the department and of internal as well as international external collaborations
- Contribute to the design of innovative research projects on precision nutrition and on the translation of precision nutrition recommendations into actual use
- Help in setting up good scientific practices, quality control and documentation practices in the department
- Co-supervise master and PhD students
- Contribute to grant proposals
Requirements and Skills:
- Excellent master and doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Nutrition, Clinical Trials or related
- Experience in project coordination and grant writing
- Experience in N-of-1 trials and randomized clinical trials
- Experience in app-based studies and digital health
- Experience with standards in good scientific practice, quality control, and documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary international teams
