Your role

As Postdoc Computational Oncology (limited to 2 years) in the Research Unit Oncology, you will join a team of highly motivated scientists dedicated to discovering the cancer drugs of tomorrow. You will extract actionable, biological insights from multi-modal patient-derived data and relevant model systems. Using in silico methods, you will identify and validate therapeutic targets and help advance early drug discovery programs. You feel right at home at the intersection of biology and data science and you combine a deep understanding of cancer biology, tumor immunology, or translational oncology with innovative analytical skills. You will leverage large language models to accelerate coding, analysis, and documentation, and apply them as conceptual tools to explore hypotheses and synthesize literature while always ensuring scientific rigor, reproducibility, and biological interpretability. You will interact closely with the R&D bioinformaticians and work in cross-functional drug discovery teams as well as external collaborations.

Who you are

  • <>PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Medicine, Bioinformatics or related discipline
  • Thorough understanding of oncology in at least one of the following areas: cancer cell signaling, tumor immunology or translational oncology
  • Extensive hands-on programming experience for biological data analysis (R or Python) including maintenance of code quality and documentation (e.g. Git)
  • Proficiency in biostatistics: ability to select and apply appropriate statistical methods across diverse biological contexts
  • Experience with AI-assisted coding and analysis workflows, including the responsible use of large language models to support code development, documentation, and reproducible research
  • Expertise in NGS data processing is a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills; ability to present complex scientific topics with clarity across diverse audiences
  • Excellent team player, eager to work in multidisciplinary teams
