Aufgaben

About Us:

Mercedes-Benz is shaping the future of mobility through innovative technologies, excellent quality, and a strong focus on safety and customer experience. Our Zone Controller (ZC) projects form a central pillar of the next-generation electrical/electronic (E/E) vehicle architecture, enabling scalable, efficient, and future-proof vehicle platforms.

Within this context, we are exploring how AI agents and chatbot-based solutions can meaningfully support engineering teams in handling complexity, improving decision quality, and accelerating development processes.

What You Will Work On:

As a Voluntary Intern in AI & Agentic Engineering, you will support the development, configuration, and application of AI agents for real engineering use cases within the Zone Controller project. Your work will bridge AI technology and hardware-centric automotive engineering, focusing on practical value creation.

Your tasks include:

Supporting the setup, configuration, and operation of AI agents and chatbot-based solutions for engineering-related use cases, such as requirements and specification analysis, data summarization and consistency checks across documents and tools, cost, effort, and impact analysis

Assisting in the integration of existing project data (e.g., technical documents, specifications, analyses, structured tables) into AI agents to ensure context-aware and reliable outputs

Helping to identify, define, and evaluate suitable AI use cases within the Zone Controller project that fit regulatory, technical, and project-specific constraints

Contributing to documentation, user guidelines, and knowledge sharing to enable sustainable use of AI solutions within the team

What We Offer:

Insight into cutting-edge Zone Controller development within Mercedes-Benz’s future E/E architecture

The opportunity to combine AI innovation with real automotive engineering use cases, focusing on practical impact rather than prototypes only

Close collaboration with experienced engineers and structured onboarding within a professional development environment

The chance to contribute ideas and shape how AI agents are used in an engineering context

The activity can begin from June 2026

Qualifikationen

Interest in AI systems, large language models, and agent-based solutions, including prompt or instruction design and structured reasoning

Structured and analytical working style with a strong interest in engineering processes and data quality

Basic understanding of automotive E/E architectures, ECUs, or functional safety concepts (ISO 26262)

Very good English skills (written and spoken); German skills are an advantage
