We believe the car of the future is already here—and it’s a connected vehicle that can be used as a payment device. Here at Mercedes pay, we enable seamless, secure, and trustworthy payments across the entire Mercedes-Benz ecosystem. We develop sleek new payment products & solutions to provide customers with an effortless, convenient user experience; not just via an app or web browser, but even in-car. The car as a payment device? We made it happen!

Mercedes-Benz is known for its legacy, but innovation and legacy are not mutually exclusive—quite the contrary. Our mission is to empower innovation within one of the top luxury car brands worldwide, helping it continue to pioneer the automotive industry. To sum it up, we are the FinTech branch or knowledge hub for payments within Mercedes-Benz.
ABOUT MERCEDES PAY
Mercedes pay launched in its first market in 2018 and is now active in more than 40 countries on five continents, enabling transaction processing for Mercedes-Benz products and services. Depending on the market, Mercedes pay may act as the technical payment gateway for transaction processing from Mercedes me store, the Mercedes me app, in-car payments and may even support online vehicle sales. This is how Mercedes pay directly contributes to the mobility and digitalization strategy of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Mercedes pay is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz AG with offices in Berlin, Stuttgart, and Farmington Hills (USA).

2023 has already been a big year—we launched full online vehicle payments in the UK and introduced native in-car payments in Germany, an industry-first feature by which users can pay directly by fingerprint inside their car. That’s the car of the future we’re talking about!

YOUR DAY AT GLANCE

Collaborate in a dynamic, diverse, and innovation-driven environment, where your experience and leadership will be valued.

Design, set up, maintain, and continually enhance our AWS cloud resources using infrastructure-as-code and support the roll-out of new payment products and services from infrastructure perspective.

Take ownership of deployments during releases and ensuring the sound functioning of CI/CD pipelines.

Further develop our data pipeline with integrations to various systems.

Leverage your Datadog expertise to enhance and maintain platform reliability and monitoring.

Drive IT Operations during the roll-out of existing products to new markets and use-cases.

Collaborate with Mercedes-Benz Group IT specialists and external providers to co-create innovative solutions.

Play a key role in ensuring the operational excellence of our global payment platform.

Ensure compliance of all operational products with Mercedes policies and relevant external laws and regulations.

Qualifikationen

WHAT WE EXPECT

A burning passion for IT, along with an open-minded and highly motivated attitude.

Successful completion of relevant studies in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Strong solution-oriented, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Proficiency in cloud service architecture best practices and experience in writing infrastructure-as-code.

Skilled at Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm and experience with software programming (e.g. Java), Git SCM, and proficiency in the Atlassian Toolchain.

Datadog hands-on experience, and deep understanding of features and capabilities.

Experience with platform reliability best practices, set up of monitors, automated alerts and on-call service.

Knowledge of IT security best practice and common standards.
