This is only possible through extraordinary speed, innovation and efficiency.Tesla is seeking a highly motivated commercial legal counsel (at least Senior Legal Counsel level) with a strong background in financial services to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in advising on complex financial transactions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the company’s EMEA financial services operations in the B2C and B2B business. This position requires a deep understanding of financial services law, strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate evolving legal and regulatory landscapes while aligning with Tesla’s innovative mission. The successful candidate will be a team member of the EMEA Legal team and, in addition to the support of financial services, will work on a variety legal commercial and regulatory matters in the EMEA region.You are a team player, highly organized, self-motivated, pro-active, entrepreneurial and have a strong sense of ownership. You have the ability to think strategically and know how to successfully and independently manage complex legal matters while prioritizing your resources efficiently. What You’ll Do

• Advise on compliance with local and international financial regulations, including banking, securities, insurances or other financial products and anti-money laundering laws
• Draft, review, and negotiate financial agreements, contracts, and partnerships involving banks and other financing partners, fintech, investments, securitisation or capital markets
• Conduct legal risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate exposure in financial operations, lead or support engagement with financial regulators i.e. FCA, BaFin, etc
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with Tesla’s business objectives and regulatory requirements and general commercial and regulatory legal matters in EMEA.
• Monitor and analyse regulatory updates to provide actionable insights for policy and process improvements
• Represent Tesla in disputes or investigations related to financial services, working closely with internal and external legal counsel
• Support creation of involving financial entities as well as their strategic development, including strategic partnerships

What You’ll Bring

• You are a German qualified lawyer, with experience at a law firm and/or in-house corporate international environment. Ideally with a background in being a country/regional lawyer, with an exceptional ability to handle a high workload of complex legal matters at the same time
• You are a team player with the ability to proactively identify problems, drive projects, and execute pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions on a timely basis
• You inspire trust, forge relationships quickly with key stakeholders at all levels, and earn the confidence and cooperation of your business partners
• You work well both autonomously, collaboratively and transparently, and are effective at juggling and prioritizing competing tasks in a fast-paced, challenging environment
• You possess an entrepreneurial mindset, quick and flexible learner, with high standards, impeccable integrity and ethics, unquestionable good judgment, well-honed analytical skills
• You have excellent communication skills, with a business level to near native level fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Advanced understanding of financial markets, corporate finance, and transactional law
