A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Engineering Project Manager for Procurement of our large Gas Turbines, you will be part of the Procurement Excellence Team within Gas Services and drive diverse projects and initiatives. This ranges from the generation & implementation of cost optimization ideas within interdisciplinary teams to leveraging the innovation power of our external suppliers and enabling the transfer of measures on products and solutions sold to external customers. You need to work with the team of Engineers to ensure the implementation of CVE-methodology within early cost-out initiatives.
Besides the optimization of existing products, you will also represent Procurement in the development of new products and exploration of new business fields. As an active core team member in selected key R&D projects, you will work closely with R&D Project Managers towards the achievement of project targets such as target cost through systematic involvement of strategic suppliers in the development process.
How You’ll Make an Impact
* Acting as the key interface between Procurement, R&D, and Cost Value Engineering within the Gas Turbines product line
* Identification of upcoming R&D and customer projects, design and sourcing opportunities, and proactive stakeholder engagement to support cost‑out efforts
* Driving realization of savings potential in a cross‑functional environment involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Sales, Marketing, and other relevant functions
* Active collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Project Procurement during the bidding process for new or optimized product offerings
* Representation of Procurement in selected key R&D programs to develop competitive products based on market requirements, including acting as technical partner for effective sourcing strategies
* Leveraging supplier innovation and technology scouting with Procurement and R&D, supporting new product market introduction, and integrating expert networks (e.g., Cost Engineers, Commodity Managers, Supplier Quality Managers) into project activities
What You Bring
* Possession of a combined technical and commercial degree or a purely technical degree (minimum bachelor’s level)
* Minimum of seven years of professional experience in the energy business, engineering, R&D, project management, and/or supply chain
* Excellence in project management, interpersonal communication, and communication with internal customers
* Requirement of relevant technical product knowledge in the design and operation of gas turbine components and systems
* Demonstration of curiosity, rapid learning ability, proactivity, strong results orientation, and strong prioritization skills with a focus on what matters most
