About the opportunity

You will play a key role in shaping the next generation of digital PCR innovation on our QIAcuity platform. In this senior scientific role, you drive complex application development projects end to end — from early concept, through experimental design and execution, to data analysis and final delivery. You collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners across R&D, product management, and customer-facing teams to translate scientific challenges into impactful molecular solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise and make a visible impact on a rapidly growing technology area within QIAGEN.

Your tasks include

* Leading and executing R&D projects to develop innovative dPCR-based applications for the QIAcuity platform.
* Designing, performing, and optimizing complex laboratory experiments, ensuring robust and reproducible results.
* Managing end-to-end development activities, including documentation, data interpretation, and internal reporting.
* Providing scientific leadership within cross-functional teams and communicating technical progress clearly to stakeholders.
* Acting as a senior technical expert to internal teams and external customers, including scientific collaborators and key opinion leaders.
* Driving continuous improvements across products, workflows, and scientific methodologies.
* Representing QIAGEN and the QIAcuity system at conferences, workshops, and internal knowledge-sharing events.

Your profile

* PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
* Extensive hands-on experience with digital PCR, qPCR, and endpoint PCR technologies.
* 5–8 years of relevant industry experience in molecular biology, assay development, or product development.
* Strong expertise in molecular and cell biology methods and enzymatic systems.
* Proven ability to design, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot complex laboratory experiments independently.
* Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills for both technical and non-expert audiences.
* Fluency in English; German at intermediate level is beneficial.
* Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences, trainings, or customer collaborations.
