Stellenbeschreibung
Scope of duties
Our research projects focus on the molecular pathomechanisms that lead to impaired wound healing and tissue regeneration following exposure of the skin to the chemical warfare agent sulfur mustard (SM). Own recent studies demonstrate a key role of endogenous microRNAs in the pathophysiology of SM-induced skin damage.
The aim of this project funded by the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) is to investigate the role of extracellular vesicles, such as exosomes, which are released by cells and subsequently re-taken up, with regard to the microRNAs they transport for communication and therapy of skin cells. To this end, cell biological and molecular analyses on primary cells, such as human primary keratinocytes and mesenchymal stem cells, are planned.
Our laboratory is equipped with a comprehensive range of methodological and technical resources for this purpose, including an in vivo cell analyzer (Sartorius Incucyte S3) and a flow cytometer (Miltenyi MACSQuant 16).
Our requirements
· Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in biology, biochemistry, or a related field and have extensive experience with standard methods in cell biology—particularly flow cytometry—as well as molecular biology and protein chemistry.
· We expect candidates to work reliably and independently and to interact in a friendly and cooperative manner with our staff as well as with our partners at the German Armed Forces.
Our offer
· The work will be carried out at the IPEK campus in Großhadern (Max-Lebsche-Platz 30) in the research group led by Prof. Christian Ries
.
· We offer extensive experience in the field, excellent infrastructure, and a friendly, supportive work environment.
· The contract term is 3 years.
· Remuneration is based on the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector of the Länder (TV-L) including all allowances customary in the public sector.
