PhD Position (f/m/d)
(Salary group 13 TV-L, 75 %, i.e. 29.85 h/week)

Role of Molecular Architecture and Self-Assembly in Charge Transport in Electroactive Polymers.

A PhD position is available in the research group of Prof. Marcus Müller, starting June 1st, 2026. The position is funded for three years. The project explores intra- and intermolecular electron-transport processes in redox-active polymers using coarse-grained molecular simulations. The research will focus on understanding how polymer architecture, domain for-mation, and electrode interfaces govern charge transport. The project is conducted in collabo-ration with Mario Tagliazucchi and Yamila A. Perez Sirkin at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Simulations will be carried out on state-of-the-art high-performance computing systems at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in the field of physics, engineering, or a related discipline with above-average grades and ideally have prior experience in polymer physics, molecular simulation, or high-performance computing.
