Stellenbeschreibung

Prof. Dr. Lutz Ackermann is seeking to fill two positions at the Institute of Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry at Georg-August University of Göttingen as

PhD Student (all genders welcome)

These positions should ideally be filled by August 2026 with a contract initially limited to three years (19,9 hours per week). Compensation is based on pay grade E13 TV-L. The positions are generally suitable for part-time work.

The Ackermann Group explores new frontiers in catalysis through ligand design, C–H activation, 3d transition metal catalysis, and emerging methodologies in photocatalysis, electrochemistry, and flow chemistry. Unlocking new synthetic possibilities via remote functionalization, peptide diversification and polymer up- and recycling. Integrating computational studies providing mechanistic insights and data-driven strategies for predictive tools to enhance efficiency in catalysis.

will collaborate with international partners
be guided to supervise undergraduate students

Your profile
You…
hold or will soon hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry or related areas,
have experience in organic synthesis, catalysis and ideally electro- or photocatalysis or computational chemistry or data science
have very good communication skills in written and spoken English,
have a high degree of personal initiative and team spirit
