The 1st Institute of Physics at the Georg-August Universität Göttingen invites applications for a
PhD Position in the field of condensed matter physics (f/m/d)
(Salary group 13 TV-L, 75 %, 29.85 hours per week)
The position is available in the research group of Prof. Dr. Thomas Weitz. In the project you will perform foundational research on towards understanding novel correlated phases in van-der-Waals heterostructures. The position will be filled for 3 years.

What we are looking for:
You have completed your scientific university studies with a MSc in the field of physics, with above-average grades and have experience in the field of quantum transport in van-der-Waals heterostructures. You should have furthermore have experience with fabricating, characterizing and contacting complex van-der-Waals heterostuctures and low-temperature electronic measurements of quantum Hall states. Furthermore, advanced knowledge of clean-room processes such as electron-beam lithography, reactive ion and wet etching as well as advanced programming skills in python are essential for the project.
