Procurement Contract Expert – Cabin perimeter (d/f/m)

A vacancy for a Procurement Contract Expert– Cabin perimeter has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Hamburg. You will join the PYCS Department (Procurement Contracts for Systems and Equipment, Cabin, Propulsion Systems)—a cross-functional, cross-country team of 18 contract experts supporting European programs.

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Contractual Support & Negotiation: Provide contractual expertise to buyers and commodity management during direct face-to-face negotiations with suppliers or back office.
  • Strategy Definition:. Influence the definition of business and sourcing models and define the contractual strategy for Airbus key projects
  • Drafting & Validation: Draft ad hoc contractual documents and review/approve crucial documentation prior to final signature.
  • End to End contractual and business acumen, from R&T to after sales: Negotiate collaboration agreements, partnership, design and build contracts (covering all steps from development, supply to the support of the product) or build to print contracts
  • Lifecycle Management & Risk Analysis: Provide lifecycle contractual expertise, ensuring full compliance with laws, regulations, and Airbus business requirements while identifying key contractual risks and associated mitigation actions.
  • Dispute & Claim Management: Clarify contractual positions and provide expertise during contract amendments, complex commercial deals, in the preparation and defense of claims and pre-litigation or during any other major events (termination, assignment, supplier insolvencies etc).
  • Innovation & Tools: Contribute to the "Contracting of Tomorrow" initiative by establishing modern ways of working, new business models, modernised contracts templates, and digital tools.
  • Upskilling & Coaching: Enhance and develop training modules to grow contractual competencies and provide on-the-job coaching and contractual awareness within the Procurement function, up to executives.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • University degree in Law, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Several years of practical experience in contract drafting and negotiation in aeronautics or a similar, highly regulated international production environment.
  • Familiarity with contracts governed by German and/or French law.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a rigorous approach and the ability to simplify and explain complex legal/contractual topics to diverse stakeholders.
  • Pragmatic mindset with the ability to successfully balance contractual guidelines with business risks, priorities, and compliance.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated team player with a "Can-Do" attitude who feels comfortable handling both operational tasks and strategic initiatives.
  • Professional fluency in English (both written and spoken)
  • Willingness to undertake occasional business travel.
