Job description
In order to support our department, Airbus Helicopters is looking for a:
System Design Responsible (d/f/m) for Traffic Surveillance - Situational Awareness Systems
You will join a team of engineers in the "Situational Awareness and Mission Management" department in charge of terrain/weather/threats/traffic awareness functions, vision enhancement and targeting systems, data-links as well as mission management systems for all (e-)VTOLs. Your mission will consist of leading the systems engineering and helicopter-level integration of traffic surveillance (ACAS/ADS-B) and environmental perception systems for civil and military aircraft.
Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities
- Ensure the system design of surveillance and environmental awareness (Situational Awareness) solutions.
- Requirement engineering, system specification and design
- Definition of integration, verification and validation strategy
- Support to rig, ground and flight testing of the resp. system or functions
- Ensure system qualification and certification at H/C level
- Ensure project execution in accordance with overall H/C level planning
- Stakeholder management with relevant stakeholders throughout the organization e.g. supplier, project and program management
- Application of modern ways of working and agile development methodology where applicable
Desired skills and qualifications
- Completed degree (Bachelor's degree and related extensive subject-specific additional qualification or Master's degree and related extended subject-specific additional qualification) in the field of Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar
- Experience in system design, development, engineering and/or integration of complex avionics systems
- Knowledge in systems engineering, requirements engineering and integration in the field of avionics
- A previous experience with agile methodology (Scrum, SAFe) would be beneficial
- Team Spirit, good communication skills and experience in stakeholder management
- Language skills: English business fluent / negotiation level, knowledge of German, French or Spanish would be an advantage
