In order to support the Eurofighter Simulation Programs, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Configuration Manager for Eurofighter Simulation Programs (d/f/m)

Eurofighter Typhoon is the world’s most advanced swing-role combat aircraft providing simultaneously deployable Air-to-Air and Air-to-Surface capabilities. Airbus is acting as the main contractor within the industrial Pilot Synthetic Training System consortium. Combat Training Systems department develops state-of-the-art EF simulator systems. Long term, multinational, large scale system of systems programs are the best place to learn and perform engineering activities.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Coordinating Configuration Control and Change Management data with internal and external stakeholders - such as Airbus Centers of Competence, Partner Companies (PC), Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and suppliers.
  • Maintaining and controlling configuration baselines for documentation, hardware and software components.
  • Leading Change Management processes by managing Change Control Boards (CCB).
  • Creating and maintaining Configuration Management Plans to ensure that documentation and data are managed correctly - focusing on storage, release, distribution and archiving within process tools - while ensuring compliance with industry standards, established processes and customer requirements.
  • Supporting the uploading of complete product structures into Product Data Management (PDM).
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment on configuration, data requirements and change control.
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of Product Breakdown Structures (PBS).
  • Verifying and facilitating data exchange between industry and customer database systems with different configurations by performing configuration verifications and audits.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Completed degree or comparable qualification.
  • Proven experience in configuration management, preferably in the training and flight simulation industry.
  • Solid knowledge of configuration and data management principles and processes (five years of experience).
  • Familiarity with Eurofighter programs and simulators is highly desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence), Subversion and the Office Suite.
  • Structured and detail-oriented approach with strong organizational, cooperative and collaborative abilities.
