Aviation Safety Officer (d/f/m)
The Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) is a pivotal member of the Aviation Safety Management System Office (ASMO) and reports directly to the Aviation Safety Manager (ASM). This role is essential for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Aviation Safety Management System (ASMS) both internally and externally.
The Aviation Safety Officer is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the organization's Aviation Safety Management System (SMS). This role ensures that all aviation activities are conducted in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices to promote a strong safety culture and minimize operational risks.

Your tasks and responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's SMS in accordance with ICAO, EASA, EMAR or other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate the risk management process, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation.
- Foster a positive safety culture within the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation safety regulations and standards, including EASA/EMAR regulations.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, review amendments for compliance, and plan staff safety training.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, industry stakeholders, and other safety professionals.
- Maintain and manage safety data and records.
Desired skills and qualifications
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline combined with relevant aviation experience.
- Solid experience in Aviation Safety within a Safety Management System role
- Strong knowledge of ICAO, EASA, (D)EMAR, or other relevant aviation safety regulations and recommended practices.
- Experience in safety risk management, safety audits, and incident investigation.
- Experience managing relationships with aviation authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant aviation safety certifications (e.g., SMS Implementer, Safety Auditor) are a plus.
- German language proficiency (native) and high level of english proficiency
