Master student in the field of Acoustics - Interior Noise (d/f/m)

We are offering a Master Thesis opportunity focusing on acoustics, specifically interior noise. This role provides a unique chance to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace research and development within a leading global company.

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Conducting in-depth research and analysis of interior noise sources and propagation within aircraft cabins.
  • Developing and applying advanced simulation models and experimental methodologies for acoustic analysis.
  • Evaluating and comparing different noise reduction strategies and materials.* Collecting and analyzing data from various sources, including laboratory tests and flight measurements.
  • Documenting research findings and presenting results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborating with experienced engineers and researchers within the acoustics department.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Acoustics, or a related field.
  • Strong academic record with a focus on acoustics, vibrations, or signal processing.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., MATLAB, ANSYS, COMSOL, LMS Test.Lab) is a plus.
  • Experience with experimental acoustics and data acquisition systems is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; German language skills are a plus.
