Job Description
Nordson, a global leader in precision technology, is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior HR Business Partner to join our team in Erkrath, Germany. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we are looking for candidates who share that same commitment.
Summary of the role
The Senior HR Business Partner will partner closely with regional leadership and managers in the assigned functions to develop and implement HR solutions to meet business needs in areas such as organization and workforce effectiveness, talent and leadership development and employee engagement. This individual will also contribute to HR strategy and policy, manage HR programs to enable the company to attract, develop and retain high-caliber employees, and serve as an internal consultant to functional leaders and managers on HR issues.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide HR consulting services to functional Leader(s) as well as managers and supervisors in assigned regions
- Partner with regional leadership to develop workforce and talent plans to meet business goals
- Contribute to workforce and talent strategy as well as HR policy and program development at the global/regional level
- Drive and implement global/regional HR programs, initiatives and solutions in assigned area
- Lead regional HR solutions on leadership/talent development, employee engagement and workforce effectiveness
- Apply HR policies and advise managers on HR issues including workforce planning, talent and performance management, and organizational issues
- Coach managers to develop capability in Talent Management and development
- Direct managers and employees to HR Operations (Global HR Shared Services) and coordinate with HR Operations where required to ensure provision of high quality HR services
- Handle escalated issues from HR Operations (Global HR Shared Services), including escalated employee relations issues including discipline inquiries and terminations
- Work closely with Communities of Expertise on HR programs and initiatives and manage labor relations issues including Union/Works Council contract negotiations where required
- Support M&A activities related to due diligence or integrations of acquisitions where required
- Promote and lead change
Skills and Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive professional level human resources experience
- Ability to prepare and present management and executive level reports / proposals
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of flexibility
- Ability to demonstrate high energy and persistence in a fast pace work environment
- Strong coaching, couselling and people skills and the ability to influence stakeholders
- Current knowledge on applicable employment and labor regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills – detail oriented
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Familiarity with HRIS functions particularly Workday
