Stellenbeschreibung

Go beyond and create global impact: At Munich Re, we're proud to be one of the world's leading providers of reinsurance, primary insurance, and insurance-related risk solutions. Our group is made up of the reinsurance and ERGO business segments, along with our asset management company, MEAG. We operate globally and are active in all lines of the insurance business.
Since our founding in 1880, we've built a reputation for unrivalled risk-related expertise and a solid financial foundation. We use our strengths to support our clients' business goals and drive technological progress. We're also at the forefront of developing coverage for emerging risks, from rocket launches and renewable energy to cyber threats and artificial intelligence.
With around 44,000 people worldwide, our group's corporate culture is defined by performance, mutual respect, and trust. All this makes us an attractive employer providing global career development opportunities and prospects.
Central Reserving (CR) uses quantitative and qualitative methods to perform and oversee the loss reserve analyses for Munich Re's group-wide Non-Life business. This includes continuous monitoring of the reserve position as well as the further development of actuarial methods, underlying systems and tools. Additional responsibilities include the assessment and quantification of reserve uncertainty and reserve risk, as well as financial reporting on Non-Life technical provisions under IFRS17, Solvency II and local GAAP standards.
To further strengthen our team of IFRS 17 experts, we seek highly motivated professionals to conduct comprehensive analyses of IFRS 17 data and effectively contextualize them within reporting and business frameworks. This position offers an in-depth perspective on the non-life reinsurance operations of Munich Re, as well as the opportunity to actively contribute to, and gain insight into, the business performance within actual quarterly closing and forecast.
Your Job

  • Work closely with Global Reserving actuaries worldwide to ensure accurate and high-quality closing figures, explain key movements in a business context, and support knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams.
  • Perform ad-hoc actuarial analyses on IFRS 17 topics, leveraging strong analytical, programming, and visualization skills to generate actionable insights and support strategic decision‑making.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of IFRS 17 methodologies, concepts, and tools, driving continuous improvement for the Global Reserving community.
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of IFRS 17 data deliveries across all Non-Life reinsurance entities through strong attention to detail and data expertise.
  • Monitor and analyse IFRS 17 key figures for Munich Re's Non-Life business and prepare clear, targeted communications for key stakeholders, including board committees, analysts, investors, and auditors.

Your Profile

  • University degree in mathematics or a similar qualification with a strong quantitative focus
  • Actuarial qualification (e.g. DAV, FIA, FCAS or equivalent) from an internationally recognized body, started or completed
  • Strong interest in and background in financial reporting, with proven experience in existing valuation standards and experience under IFRS 17
  • Ability to present complex technical topics in a clear and structured way to non‑technical and senior stakeholders
  • A high degree of accuracy and discretion when handling confidential matters
  • Strong affinity for working with large data sets, experience with programming languages such as R and SQL, as well as strong knowledge of Excel, PowerBI and PowerQuery
  • Strategic thinking, excellent analytical and conceptual skills with strong problem recognition and solving skills as well as a solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong team player, enthusiasm to collaborate with other teams and departments, also on a global basis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
