Senior Cloud Developer “SURU WaterMonitor Business” (f/m/d)

Are you a passionate cloud engineer ready to shape modern cloud-native applications and take end-to-end technical ownership? To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Senior Cloud Developer (m/f/d) for our Value Stream “SURU WaterMonitor Business” at the earliest possible opportunity.

As a Senior Cloud Developer for our Value Stream “SURU WaterMonitor Business”, you will design, build, and operate modern cloud-native applications that are part of SURU´s product portfolio. Working closely with Product Management, Data & Analytics, Operations, Sales, and external partners, you will turn business requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions that create measurable customer value. You will take ownership of features throughout their entire lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Using AWS and modern web technologies, you will help deliver software that is reliable, easy to operate, and built to scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and operate modern cloud-native applications using TypeScript, NestJS, Next.js, and AWS (including** Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS, and CDK**)
• Build full-stack solutions, encompassing backend services, APIs, user-facing frontend applications, and integrations with internal and external systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and business teams to turn ideas into well-designed, scalable technical architectures
• Take end-to-end ownership of features across their entire lifecycle, from initial design discussions through deployment and production monitoring
• Drive technical leadership** **by shaping architecture decisions, performing code reviews, mentoring team members, and maintaining high engineering standards
• Champion modern engineering practices, promoting clean code, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and the effective use of AI-assisted development tools

Job Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar qualification
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, cloud platforms, or IoT solutions
• Strong experience with** TypeScript**, ideally including NestJS and Next.js
• Experience designing, building, and operating AWS-based cloud applications
• Solid understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native application design
• Experience with automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ahands-on mindset with strong ownership and a focus on delivering high-quality software
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering practices to improve development efficiency and quality
• Proficiency in both English and German (German at least B1)
• Nice to Have:Experience with IoT platforms, event-driven architectures, connectivity technologies, infrastructure automation, observability, or industrial data environments. AWS certification (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer) is a plus
