The Executive Board and the Board of Directors determine the strategy of the BA. The headquarters develops products and programs for this purpose and manages the regional directorates.

The 10 Regional Directorates implement the BA's strategy throughout Germany and manage the local employment agencies.

The 150 employment agencies with their approximately 600 branches implement the tasks of the BA on site. In addition, there are 301 job centres and the family cash registers with around 100 locations.
